RBW 2008 Venue and Boat Details
As RBW 2008 is growing, one of the new key features for RBW 2008 is
that we are now a fully residential convention in one of Europe's most
spacious and well-equipped convention/hotel venues. For RBW 2008 we have the use
of seven great rooms, we will be able to bring you a ton of extra
programming, a dedicated fursuit lounge, gaming area, artists area, a
stocked bar to relax in, and our grand event hall that can hold over
400 people. As with all previous years, we will of course feature our
iconic boat party on the Saturday evening.
Convention Space
One of the key reasons for choosing The Royal National Hotel is because
its first class convention facilities. The Royal National features 3
large halls and a large range of other small rooms to hold panels and
workshops in. All convention areas feature full climate control, direct
lifts from hotels rooms into convention facilities, WiFi access, and
all rooms have recently been refurbished.

Hotel Rooms
BW 2008 will be held in the same hotel as last year. We want to make
RBW a relaxed, safe, and convenient convention. Whilst other Hotels in
the area may offer better value for money, none have convention
facilities that are suitable for our needs. By having the convention
venue and hotel in the same location it will mean people can easily
move between the two, get changed easier if you have a fursuit, and
take friends back to your hotel room to chill out. The Royal national
is also specially suited for young parties, so if people want to have
room parties there is less of an issue as there would be with a more
upper-class hotel.
A number of issues arose surrounding the hotel last year and we have
been working hard to overcome these. The first major change over last
year will be the booking method. To make it easier for you to place a
booking at the Royal National all you have to do is use our simple
booking form. The hotel booking
system comes online at the end of April 2008. |
The RBW 2008 Boat
BW 2007 had 200 people turn out for the boat party on the Saturday
evening. For this coming year we have hired one of the largest boats
available for hire on the river Thames. The Erasmus can hold 310 people
and is set across 3 floors and was fully refurbished less than a year
ago. They key features of the Erasmus include:- large dedicated middle
floor dance-floor, complete with covered outdoor area, integrated sound
reactive lighting, two fully equipped bars, completely open top deck
and luxury seating downstairs. In previous years we have featured shows
and live acts as part of the boat party, this year we decided to simply
have the event as music-only so that people can enjoy the music, chat,
and take in the wonderful panoramic views of London by night. |
